Dog Parking

The West End dog park is a gem and we don't know how we would get by without it. Porter absolutely loves chasing, and being chased, by his ever changing group of friends. He's not the fastest dog, but what he lacks in speed, he makes up for in energy. But hey - he's a puppy and getting faster every day.

Interestingly (or is it mortifying?), Porter has developed a penchant to pin small dogs. He doesn't bite or scratch... he just lays on top of them. Imagine our horror and embarrassment. Sorry, no pictures. I just can't bring such ridicule upon myself. So, here's a much more endearing thought:

How could a face like that ever pin a little pooch?

A Growing Boy...

Pigeon. One word. One name. Actually, Pigeon, or Pigee as she is affectionately known, is the name of a particular NYC pooch that launched a new blog (see the previous entry) and many an email.

So, now it's time for a rebuttal centered around Porter. For all of you that have been waiting... it's about 5 weeks since we last posted pictures and Porter has transformed. He's growing. He's training - first, with a fantastic dog counselor (more on Porter's anxiety issues in later blog); and now at PetSmart. All the while the little guy has been growing. Personally, we didn't recognize the growth, but looking at the pictures, it's pretty impressive to see that broadening face and gangly legs.

Without further wait, here are some pictures.

Porter - last week - his new favorite position. Actually, he sleeps like this. I'm not kidding. He really does. It's quite disconcerting.

Another of Porter's favorite positions is the result of chasing his tennis balls once they have rolled under the sofa (also last week):

As for what Porter looks like now. Here's a picture from tonight:
